One of America’s Most Beloved Female Choir to Tour Spain -
One of America’s Most Beloved Female Choir to Tour Spain -
Having been the first female vocal ensemble to tour Europe, the first American chorus to win first prize in the international Eisteddfod Competition in Llangollen (northern Wales), and the first American choral group to perform in Athens, Istanbul and in the countries of ex-Yugoslavia, are just a few of the truly incredible achievements of the Smith College Chamber Singers. The choir has also sung for Pope Pius XII. This May, the College Chamber Singers will be adding Spain to their impressive resume.
La Suisse, an international newspaper in Geneva Switzerland says that “The Smith College Choir surprises us…with the number of young girls in it. But what amazes us even more is the vocal worth, the purity of tone and the over-all smoothness of the registers. Choirs which attain unity for octaves so pure and accurate are rare.”
This May, Classical Movements has arranged for Smith College Chamber Singers, one of America’s most beloved female choir to tour Spain as well as sing at 4 unique venues.
From May 21st – 29th, the group will share its gift of voice at 4 venues in Spain.
